A lot of people don’t like the scene releases. They’re usually of lower quality compared to the best of what’s available. If you use the Scene custom format from TRaSH guides, it filters out the LQ scene groups like SucessfulCrab.
likes anarchism, copyleft, piracy, drinking tea, photography, genAI, and watching nazis/zionists get shot in the neck. the only good authoritarian is a dead authoritarian. all cops are fascists. liberals are nazi collaborators. the united states is a terrorist state. israel does not have any right to exist. palestine must be free.
any original art or software I post here is yours, I don’t respect copyright for anyone else, and don’t claim any for myself.

The functionality is in the apps. That’s why TRaSH guides work.
You’re not supposed to just use Sonarr/Radarr without customizing your filters first. It’s also not too hard to make your own, if you don’t want to use the TRaSH formats.
Check out Trash Guides.
The TRaSH Guides should block those. They have SuccessfulCrab in one of the Scene formats. IDK about ELiTE, but you could add them into the format as well to filter them. I followed the guides and set up a single Sonarr/Radarr to fetch both anime and normal shows/movies, and I don’t have any problems with getting bad quality stuff. I don’t think it’s pulled something I didn’t like anytime in the last couple of years since I turned it on.

most things are a couple of commands one has to copy/paste into a command prompt.
how many people do you think know what a command prompt is? because quite frankly even knowing that much is very uncommon for the vast, overwhelming majority of the population.
you’re talking about condensing years of learning into a few tutorials, as if it’s nothing. idk if it’s smug superiority, or you’re literally just ignorant of how much you know that the average person does not, but it’s fucking wild that you think the average person is going to be able to do what we do without giving up.
this ain’t a hobby for everyone else, it’s difficult and frustrating work.
Member-owned data storages that could be broken into far easier than the share-holder controlled one.
that’s just corporate fear mongering propaganda. it isn’t true at all.
that great for people who have the knowledge to do that, but keep in mind that most people do not, and don’t want to learn how to selfhost from the ground up if all they want to do is backup some photos or work files.
at this point, I don’t wanna do that either. how long till it’s impossible to find a phone on the market that you can burn a custom ROM to? if google is walling up the garden, it’s not gonna be long till they stop letting Pixels be used for shit like GrapheneOS.
we need an open source and hopefully modular alternative to android, and we need it yesterday.
I regret the years I spent making fun of iPhone users for their walled garden.
Yeah but they didn’t move fast. autonomous road vehicles have been in development by one company or another for what, twenty years at least? It’s only in the last couple of years that they’ve started hitting the road.
Oh I doubt that’s why they did it. I imagine for google it’s more along the lines of “more money for us”.
it’s a shame android is getting a walled garden too now.
I use Unraid. It’s great and a lot less hassle than back when I used just a regular distro for everything.
that’s exactly what they are going to do. on every device released by certified partners.

unless they change their mind on this, android will soon be a walled garden like the iphone is.
yeah, because it’s bankrolled by one billionaire now, so it doesn’t matter how badly he runs it, as long as he decides to keep it up. it could never make a single dime ever again, and he could run it for as long as he wanted because he makes vastly more than twitter costs.
back when it was public, if it had lost this many advertisers when it wasn’t profitable to start with, it might have been a very different situation for them. they had to convince investors to keep giving them money back then.
There’s no such thing as “impossible” when it comes to piracy.
“Why won’t you guys think of the children!”
With the recent push for age verification in the UK, they saw an opening that will let them wall up the garden again.
Does anyone know if they collaborate with law enforcement
yes, they do. they aren’t there to provide bulletpoof hosting, they are there to make your site resistant to DDoS attacks. as an added bonus, if you are selfhosting they also provide you with a bit of anonymity, in the sense that someone can’t just figure out your general location from your ISP.
that doesn’t mean people can’t figure out who you are from the content you host. and if you are hosting content that is illegal, even if it’s illegal in another country, then you are likely to be exposed when their courts subpoena cloudflare. cloudflare isn’t going to fight too hard to protect your identity against a government, and honestly I don’t blame them for that because they never said that was their mission or purpose. they are DDoS protection, with a few other features that might be useful to you.
What do you think about the fact that Google Pixel phones are being confiscated in Spain if they have GrapheneOS installed?
I think that’s fucking wild, is what I think.
Ah, I see what you mean now. Something like that would be nice, but I don’t think it would work for a lot of people. I know I’m pretty particular about the stuff I download, and I doubt a community maintained list would tick the boxes I want. Especially since a lot of people seem to use separate instances of Sonarr for shows and animes, and I combine them into a single one, and then assign formats and libraries accordingly using Jellyseer so that my family can request media without effort.
