Is there any open source app on android that supports rcs?
Is there any open source app on android that supports rcs?
Only thing I know of is the lead dev has a mastodon account (dansup) where he’s pretty active
Loops is new and still in beta. The dev has said that he wants to wait to open source it until he feels it’s current state is ready to be on other people’s servers (once it reaches 1.0). I can’t say I agree with the thought process but at least with pixelfed he did the same process and actually followed through on federation and open sourcing
Organic maps is the goat, looking forward to their linux build becoming more stable
Current nixos user and it seems to me to have stabilized a good bit. I know that the nixos foundation held their first elections for the steering community. Also they recently released their new stable 24.11 version that seemed to go smoothly.
It is not back to where it was in terms of dev trust but there is good progress, and my software still gets updated so I have stuck with it
This is the initial release of their beta, I would’ve been very surprised if it had upload capabilities
Pretty sure it’s not removed, they just aren’t accepting any changes from the developer for the 6.13 cycle
Anyone have any comparisons of this to Ardour?
There are apps made for linux that don’t work with android, and there are apps made for android that don’t work with linux. That’s enough for me to consider them different
Also android just doesn’t use the basic mainline kernel which is what most people want when they say “linux phone”
I don’t daily drive one but I’ve been keeping a close eye on it and here’s my opinions: postmarketos seems to have the most momentum out of any distro (you can see device support here). I do believe it will be viable eventually as a lot of work is actively being done. This month they announced two grants that were accepted for 4g volte calling and firefox on mobile improvements. They are also working on porting systemd to alpine so that gnome mobile and plasma mobile can be run without any workarounds. Also the oneplus6/6t seems to be the most hopeful for a daily driver.
tldr: I don’t think it’s currently viable but work and money is currently being put towards projects to fix that
Oh I was more looking for suggestions of actual color schemes rather than how to theme, sorry for the confusion
Primarily trying to theme my window manager and terminal
Bro this is a linux community, what were you expecting?
As a developer writing code who used windows to ssh to linux servers I would disagree. But of course it depends on the company and the nature of the work, just offering my experience
Every place I’ve been at had developers using windows machines and then ssh into a linux environment
It’s decisions like the lack of client side decorations, a sys tray, and mouse cursor protocol that makes me wonder what direction they’re going for
Can I ask why you say Mastodon isn’t a good twitter alternative and maybe what it could do to improve? Sorry if I missed that part in the article
As a current user of ranger could this be a full replacement?
It seems like postmarketOS is porting systemd to alpine for their next stable version, just something to keep an eye on
Did purism treat coreboot devs bad? I remember the whole malibal thing but don’t remember anything with purism
