Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good.
Greenland cannot defend itself from annexation by America. Annexation by America would result in far less autonomy than Greenlanders currently have. Therefore, in order to maximize their autonomy, they should be emphasizing their relationship with Denmark, and the rest of Europe, to try to persuade European nations to dissuade Trump from raping them.
Instead, this statement gives European nations a good excuse to say that America annexing Greenland is none of their concern.
Seems like a bad time to emphasize they’re not Danes.
