- Germany will keep arming Israel despite an international backlash over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s offensive in Gaza, said Berlin’s foreign minister.
By overcompensating for the past, Germany is siding with the genocidaires. And the problem is that it’s dragging the Union down, preventing a joint response.
Shameful, utterly shameful, especially in light of Israeli non compliance to the ICJ provisional orders with respect to the genocide case: https://www.hrw.org/news/2024/02/26/israel-not-complying-world-court-order-genocide-case
Germany is putting itself in a position to be in breach of the genocide convention.
This is misleading. There is also a substantial portion of Germans against the Palestine war. (Yesterday a poll was published where much more than 50 percent were against Israel’s wars)
What exactly is misleading?
You can just say “Germany is doing X” to refer to actions of the government, you do that in German as well btw. If that weren’t the case, why do you call this action of the Netanyahu regime “Israels war”, when that guy only has a 30% approval rating?
And in any case, the German people are still to blame for voting Merz’s CDU into office last year, supporting Israel was a thing he did say he and his party would do. Him now saying that these actions can no longer be justified is unexpected, but I won’t hold my breath for anything to come from this.
I believe this is about the government, not the people.
No doubt that most people are against it.

The German government themselves seem against the war, but still want to make money by selling weapons. In itself, this stat doesn’t give much info.
