See I’m of the controversial opinion that if you think it’s going to make you money to do a razor ad that tells kids not to bully (Gillette) or wave a pride flag at your restaurant, I will gladly take that over an ad where an unrealistically chiseled God of a man is about to get fucked to death by his smoking hot wife in a red nightie for his choice of razor (Gillette) or a restaurant showing bomb blonde shells in tight tank tops with lame patriotic breast puns and bragging about being politically incorrect to get you in the door (do I really need to specify?)

If we’re going to be bombarded by advertising, I’d rather the message at least be healthier and inclusive. Who cares if it’s a cynical attempt to make a quick buck? That shit has a profound impact on people psychologically.

It’s all the same evil imo. I think as genuine humans we should be above that entire ideology and style of marketing in general, regardless of the shit it promotes.

Ok…but realistically, do you think marketing is going anywhere any time soon? If it’s here, I would rather it be healthier and inclusive.

The debate isn’t “rainbow washing vs no ads.” It’s “if we’re going to have ads, what do we want them to say?”
