Fediverse already exists, with all its tools and instances (Lemmy, Mastodon, PixelFed, etc). It’s democratic, as anyone can host an instance or join an instance where they are accepted.
We don’t need more centralized copycats.

I approve the “Cory Doctorow’s law”.

Not worth it. It could be as cheap as Southeast Asia and there would still be way better places to go.

MySQL is dead

There is still software that is only shipped through:
It would be great if they would move to Flatpak.

Because he has a spine.

Finally, some good news.

It is becoming evident that Merz is just a puppet.

Nice initiative, but perhaps some effort should be spent in collaboration and communication between people working with a similar goal.
In the last few months we were presented with the following initiatives:
And now: https://bigswitch.eu/

France, Spain, Denmark, and a couple of others already understood what’s happening and started to put things in motion. Most are still frozen in the expectation or in denial. I haven’t found one of the many directories (https://www.goeuropean.org/, https://european-alternatives.eu/, etc.) that offer an API to this data. More than listing alternatives, for real adoption, we need to put this information in front of regular users when they need to use/pick one of the non-EU products/services.
Regardless of age verification, europeans should definitely move to lemmy.
