2·5 days agoThe US is at will, nobody gives 2 weeks for termination unless maybe it’s a layoff. If a company has grounds to fire you they just fire you. Most will be smart enough to disable accounts before you’re even out the door.
Murder. Firing a gun in a crowd is not manslaughter because you don’t see exactly who you are killing. You know it’s going to kill someone and that’s the goal so it’s murder.

They’re already out there. Just don’t get as much news as Voyager. Unfortunately I don’t think any will be capable of lasting as long since we stopped using the radio isotope generators. New horizons is currently in the Kupier belt. It’s the 5th such probe to reach escape velocity from our solar system. Pioneer 10 and 11 were the other non-voyager probes.
Edit: I was incorrect, new horizons does use an RTG for power. But right now its mission is slated to end in 2029. I wonder if it will be kept alive like the Voyager probes.
Edit 2: yeah, the RTG is slated to run out of power to run the transmitters in the 2030s. It was originally designed to be more powerful but the DOE delayed delivery of the plutonium 238 required.

Sorry Zek, when technology affects people’s lives it’s technology news. Especially when affects who lives and dies. Making tech treat people equally is only political if someone makes it that way.
While I agree that many are too eager to put anything even tangentially related to tech in this community, this belongs. This is a piece of technology that is wildly relevant to this community and to a politics community. Sometimes they are inextricable. More and more these days whether we like it or not.
Yeah it’s been in there for a while now. I think I’ve had them setup for the last two winters.
It does however mean they are not concerned about selling out of current stock any time soon.

Thanks for the info. After all the ads and tracking nonsense I just took mine off the network all together. I’m lucky enough to have the harmony and Android tv states to fall back on for automations. But this is good information in case my setup ever changes.
At Amazon literally every employee is dispensable. They have a firing quota.
Edit: to be clear I’m talking about the Amazon divisions outside the warehouse. They make managers fire a certain percentage of people on a regular basis.
