Hahaha, great point :) HELLO FELLOW HUMAN, WOULD YOU LIKE TO BUILD AN AUTHENTIC, TRUSTED AND ENGAGED RELATIONSHIP WITH ANOTHER HUMAN BEING THAT IS TOTALLY NOT A ROBOT? :D
Quotes from the original announcement:
Today, Reddit is the most human place on the internet, and one of the last places on the internet where brands can build authentic, trusted and engaged relationships with customers.
Bwahaha, “most human”? Really? Wow.
A scalable, AI-powered social listening tool designed to unlock strategic value
Barf. Oh boy, “social listening tool” - that’s a new one…
These are tools for a new era of community marketing, one where brands can tap into Reddit’s authenticity
Yup, because nothing says “authenticity” like artificially realigned messages interspersed with AI slop ads. Such real, much authentic, wow…
Wouldn’t be surprised, since “no” as a full sentence does not exist in tech or online anymore - it’s always “yes” or “maybe later/not now/remind me next time” or other crap like that…
“She went to a bar wearing THAT?! That’s like really asking for it then, totally her fault, what was she expecting?”
Ser (in Polish.Pronounced similarly to “sir” in"yes sir")
Et tu, Wikipedia?
My god, why does every damn piece of text suddenly need to be summarized by AI? It’s completely insane to me. I want to read articles, not their summaries in 3 bullet points. I want to read books, not cliff notes, I want to read what people write to me in their emails instead of AI slop. Not everything needs to be a fucking summary!
It seriously feels like the whole damn world is going crazy, which means it’s probably me… :(
Amen to that - way too many people forget that interviews are a two way street. You interview me, sure, but at the same time I am also interviewing you to see if the company is a good fit for me. Job seekers are not (or should not be) a bunch of starving orphans begging rich for job owners for scraps. Having a job means providing a service and being compensated for it, not total servitude…
I would have to be MUCH more desperate than I am to ever accept being interviewed by a damn machine… It’s even worse than those “record yourself answering these questions” bullshit. Nobody should work for a company that does not even respect them enough to talk to them
Exactly. I’m almost fucking fifty, maybe that’s why I find this patronizing tone so annoying, get off my lawn and all… ;)
The infantilization of error messages about me to no end. Sure Error: exception FF02345A0 in module flarghbhgy.py is not immediately helpful, but at least it allows me to search for a solution or a cause. Recently though, a frighteningly large portion of software developers decided for some reason that Oopsie poopsie, someone made a boo boo is a better error message, especially if it’s accompanied by a cute whimsical image of a kitten or some shit…
He has too little mental capacity left, so he simply parrots whatever the last person he talked to said to him. He also has no opinions or stances of his own, so he’s trivial to manipulate: just find the last person who talked to him while stroking his ego and you’ll know whose words these are, because they are not Trump’s…
It uses insights from the real Christie and is scripted by academics — so the actual content appears to be human-made and not generated from a model that’s been fed all of her work.
…but we slapped “AI” on it, because fucking AI has to be in EVERYTHING, them’s the rules! Would you also like to purchase AI enhanced toilet paper and AI raised cucumbers by the way?
Fucking hell, the AI bubble can’t burst fast enough, I’m so sick and tired of it…
Next, let’s make locks and window blinds illegal too - how can big brother protect us and fight crime if they can’t see what we’re doing 24/7?
Also, why are people criminals putting letters in envelopes - do they have something to hide? Big brother should be able to read all mail too, any time he feels like it. It’s all for our own good and to fight crime after all!
…because if I’m not interested in something, I might change my mind after I see it a bunch more times on the same fucking page - what a brilliant idea! Hell, put the ad in 50 different spots and make me click no less than 7 times to close each one - who knows, maybe that will encourage me to buy whatever shit you’re peddling!
Seems an alternative, easier method was found: https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/an-even-better-microsoft-account-bypass-for-windows-11-has-already-been-discovered
Relevant part:
But fret not, as a new, perhaps better bypass has already been discovered that still uses the command prompt (which you can open with Shift + F10) and makes skipping the Microsoft Account sign-in step a total breeze.
Discovered by user @witherornot1337 on X, typing “start ms-cxh:localonly” into the command prompt during the Windows 11 setup experience will allow you to create a local account directly without needing to skip connecting to the internet first.
“Users who in the past would type ‘free online file converter’ into a search engine are vulnerable, as the algorithms used for results now often include paid results, which might be scams.”
Nooo, you mean turning search engines into monetization and ad delivery engines had downsides? Who would have thought!
Fucking greed at the root of another goddamned issue…
To people with self awareness, a sense of shame and at least a bit of integrity it sure would be!
But what if you want to remove some features that were already sold to users to put them behind a subscription? Or you fired your QA department because you can just sell buggy shit to users, have them find the bugs and fix (or not!) them later? Would someone please think of the poor business owners?!
Inb4 it turns out they bought it to promote an AI that specializes in connection and humanity…
What, me, bitter? Naaaw, what makes you think so?
Edit: turns out I have not a single original thought in my head: https://marketoonist.com/2022/08/ai-generated-marketing-content.html
Because if there’s anything a link aggregator needs, it’s MORE reasons for people to not read linked articles! Will they also add AI responses? That way users wouldn’t need to bother with reading OR writing!
