Hey actually got a follow up but untreated to op - I still don’t really understand the difference between .world and Piefed. I find myself using the Piefed interface a lot, and although a lot of the content here is similar, it’s not identical to where I signed up, .world (even though I’m subscribed to the same instances).

Anyone got a quick primer on the differences?

Actually you shouldn’t (if you can avoid it and I understand it’s expensive) let room just sit in 30C heat if you plan on air conditioning them later. When you are cooling a room, it’s just the air: the furniture, walls, everything has become a heat sink in 30 degree weather.

So you are better off keeping the room somewhat cool before you use it and go full cool.

Putting the politics aside, the dark fleet is a major disaster waiting to happen. We’ve already seen some small ones. These things are near or more usually past 4th special survey (which it normally the “retirement” age of big tankers), horrible maintained racking up multiple PSC violations every time they put into a non-Russian allied port.

Nobody wants one of these to sink or blow up in heavily trafficked European waters.

And Russian regulars are aboard posed at ratings so they can keep the officers in line. Both the officers and ratings work in horrible, dangerous conditions.

I happen to agree with the politics: Europe must stop Russia or we’ll be next. But you don’t have to agree with that to see what a monumental danger these ships and their operations are.

And probably Russians lent a bit of “help” as well.

It seems like you are talking about yesterday? I was in the city four times yesterday (live just S of the centrum). It was market day; it was the cancer walk day; and there was some kind of padfinders thing going on. It was very, very busy.

Also I was at the counterdemonstration with about 400-500 other people around 13:30. It started in the park and then marched N.

I didn’t see or hear anything about this unless it was in Haarlem Nord. De Haarlemsdagblad reported on both the demonstration and counter demonstration, but there is nothing about this in any of the reporting.

Don’t get me wrong I’m on your side, but as @itsjustachairmary@lemmy.world wrote, is there any photo evidence of this please? If this was some other day apologies. That said, I’m in the centrum usually at least twice a day.
