Seriously. Ditch your streaming providers; ditch cable. Just get Stremio + Torrentio + Real-Debrid. And SmartTubeNext. All the video content you could ever need on your TV can be streamed instantly through these two apps. Every movie; every TV show; all of YouTube. All ad-free. Buy an antenna for local channels/sports and you’re set for life.
Both every time but I also haven’t used a VGA cable in at least 15 years.
Yeah seriously; I don’t recognize any of this crap.

To be fair, if you have a home lab setup (or even a simple server), you’re not the average computer user.

I can relate to this person. I entered the job market in 2008, the same year the economy crashed. I was immediately screwed the moment I was old enough to work, which set me up for failure from the beginning. I’m now in my mid 30s and I feel like I just haven’t been able to get my shit together no matter how hard I try. To this day I’m still working the same shitty retail and warehouse jobs for crumbs.
Edit: Meanwhile my GF is in her late 20s, has a work-from-home job that pays $24/hr, and is a homeowner. She’s way more successful than I’ll ever be, cause shit wasn’t completely fucked by the time she started working. It’s not fair.

I’m not an Apple fanboy, nor have I ever purchased one of their products (and I don’t plan to), but I’m actually fine with this because there are lots of USB-C mice and keyboards on the market these days in every price range. At the very most, you might have to buy a different cable because the ones I’ve bought tend to come with USB-C to USB-A cables instead of C to C. But eventually that will change as USB-A is inevitably phased out.
What the hell are you talking about? I push the power button every single day on my PC. I’m aware that wake on LAN is a thing, but your average computer user doesn’t utilize that feature. And only a psychopath who doesn’t care about their power bill nor the environment would leave their PC running 24/7.
Edit: Thanks for the insight. You were right, I was wrong. My bad.
Speak for yourself. Personally I turned $12K into $36K when the US government allowed bitcoin to be traded on the stock market as an ETF. Yet everyone here keeps trying to tell me that it’s a scam. Which is weird, because I bought a car, an OLED TV, and built a $4000 gaming machine with my “fake internet money”, as everyone here likes to call it.
All this stuff I bought with my earnings seems real to me. But hey, keep downvoting and calling me an idiot, like you always do, when I bring up the point that not everyone is stupid enough to lose money with crypto.

Can agree. I used to think I was savvy enough to avoid getting scammed, until I followed a link that a person who was pretending to be a mechanic gave me to purchase parts for my car. I ended up spending $1300 on parts that didn’t exist.
Long story short, I eventually got my money back after arguing with my bank’s fraud department for several months. I wish I could afford a lawyer so I could sue this guy for pain and suffering + the thousands I spent in Uber/Lyft/Waymo getting to work while I didn’t have a car.
As a native, I’ve only ever known winter time. (Cause we don’t have DST for those who didn’t know.)
It’s for the better. They will find other jobs. You sound like the people crying about coal mines being closed down.
Yeah I thought everyone knew this. Netscape became Mozilla Browser, which became Firefox.
It is to me.
