In my experience, random failure with random auto-fix is exclusively a windows feature. Turning it off and on fixes the majority of windows glitches.

7·1 day agoHave you read the article? Have you seen what’s happening in the USA? You must be an idiot to think otherwise. Have fun living a delusion, while the rest of the world moves on.

221·1 day agoSo the majority of them left for the EU. Thanks for your talent USA.
No one sane from the EU wants to go to the USA anymore.
And anyone sane from the other parts of the world are now choosing the EU over the USA.
Triple whammy.
And in addition to making the USA unappealing for scientists and losing all the talent. They are also getting rid of all the cheap labour.
No talent for innovation. No cheap labour for producing competitive products.
I can’t wait to see what the USA will be like after Trump.

Lack of dangerous vehicles is certainly not the cause of their depression.

Android@lemmy.world•The Clicks Communicator stumbled by marketing itself as a "second phone". It has everything I want out of a "real" phone, no AI push, and it's small. I'm going to try it as my next (only) phone.English
0·6 days agoPhysical keyboard > touch keyboard.
I hate touch keyboards. 9 times out of 10 they’re fine. But there’s that one time where I keep missing the exact same letter for maybe 5 attempts, even when I carefully try to click it exactly spot on 🤬
I’d have become a murderer if not for completion suggestions and spell checkers
Doesn’t happen to me. Like I said, they sorted out their updates system, it doesn’t have such issues anymore.
Yes, do it in reverse. Ask her if she’s 25 first, then if she’s 50
That’s what it used to be. They managed to sort out their updates. Windows updates system is pretty good now. The issue is what’s included in those updates, like all the AI bloat. But that’s a different issue.
Forced updates are only an issue on corporate machines now, because it’s your IT guy pushing them and setting deadlines to update.
Also, Linux updates can completely break your system. Not often, but it can happen.

When was GitHub down last? I must have missed it.
Last time it might have been down, I was probably still writing code and committing it locally and didn’t notice.

15·16 days agoYou know what would help society? If you spent all those billions on climate protection and clean energy, creating new jobs and a better future instead of causing the complete opposite effects.
You, fucking billionaires, are the ones doing ALL the damage and it’s time for your heads to roll down the guillotine.
