Sugar coatings aren’t only for candies; they also help viruses, like the ones that cause COVID-19, hide from their hosts’ immune system. Now, researchers have developed a universal vaccine that targets coronaviruses and the sugars that they use as cover.

Can I get the regular version loaded with HFCS? I hate the aftertaste of low or no-sugar options.

The article doesn’t explain how these glycans get dissolved and also if they’re from host cells, don’t the healthy cells need the glycans?

How would the mechanism that does the enzymatic digestion only target the glycans on viruses and not in healthy cells I wonder?

There’s no belief - there’s accepting modern science or unknowingly joining the club of the cognitively challenged.

You are correct, science is a methodology and not a belief system.

That’s the cool thing about science. It’s verifiably true whether you believe it or not.

Every aspect of your life is based on science. There is nothing to believe when you’re already living in it.

Your not wrong. I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted for simply stating a fact.

I guess people are assuming you’re one of the people you’re mocking? As far as I can tell you’re Australian, so yeah, apologies for our american dickheads.

I want to say it’s mainly because of the belief part I said because science is a methodology so either the vaccine works or not and no belief is required. But in truth because not all comments/downvotes did not elaborate on their reasoning I am not 100% sure. I just deleted the comment anyway and reported the more hateful ones anyway. Cheers for your response though.
