Late last year, Google widely rolled out “profile sharing” wherein you set what name and contact photo other people see in the Messages app.

I woke my partner to tell her the good news and she is currently weeping.
I absolutely hated this change (My SO deliberately set his profile pic to something heinous on purpose to mess with me), but yeah. I’m not sure it’s like ground breaking or anything.
